A natural remedy against HIV, cancer, tuberculosis, hepatitis, liver problems and anxiety, betulin helps to increase the body’s resistance to stress, fatigue, inflammation and other immune-related problems.

Betulin is a substance that is extracted from the outer bark of the birch tree. White birch bark has been used by Native Americans as a folk remedy for some time. It was used in tea and other beverages to treat stomach and intestinal problems such as diarrhea and dysentery. It was also applied to wounds to help them heal faster and reduce inflammation.  It has been used in Russia since 1834.

In 1994, scientists at the University of North Carolina reported that chemicals found in white birch bark slowed the growth of HIV. The following year, a researcher at the University of Illinois reported that betulinic acid killed melanoma cells in mice. Since then, a number of researchers have conducted laboratory tests on betulinic acid to determine its antitumor properties. In January 2011 researchers found betulin from birch bark also lowered cholesterol, obesity and improved insulin sensitivity.
